From Kevin, we learned about technologies that can empower Ben to be safe.  Each piece of adaptive technology addressed trouble areas that Ben and I learned about during his apartment stay.

Common issues we worried about:

• Home entrances and exits – tricky, old locks, lost keys
• Unexpected visitors
• Medication dispensing
• Wandering from home, getting lost
• Fire and invisible CO detection
• Overnight safety
• Safety emergencies (intruder, sudden illness, a fall, power outage)
• Cooking safety
• Food shopping
• Overeating (frequent night trips to the fridge)
